Margate Mardi Gras has been a huge event that seems to have been the event of the past. It was a legendary street party that made Margate a famous holiday destination.
Mardi Gras stopped a few years back and many thought it would never return, however, residents welcomed the Mardi Gras back on the 14th of February 2023.
On February 14th, 2023, the coastal town of Margate in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, hosted a festive Mardi Gras celebration that drew visitors and locals alike. The bagpipe band started the event. Later we could see children from In Motion Dance Studio performing. A highlight of the evening was the stunning fire dancers’ performance, who left everyone in awe of their skills.
Children were also entertained with a dedicated kids’ zone, featuring activities such as a jumping castle, face painting, and an outdoor cinema experience right on the beach.
The Margate Mardi Gras proved to be a fantastic day out for families, locals, and visitors alike, showcasing the vibrant and diverse culture of KwaZulu-Natal.
